In this modern day, drive through car washes, are helping those with disabilities have one more area of independence in their life. No longer are the days, when they have to ask someone else to wash their car or worry about getting in and out of their car at a self or full serve wash.
People with hearing disabilities can just read the menu and the signs and never have a worry whether they can hear the attendant. This is really important to me. As having a family with inherited hearing issues. Three of my six siblings are hearing impaired and worrying about hearing (even with a hearing aide) which can really play or their self confidence and their ability to go places alone. Also a sister and brother that have bulging discs which make it really difficult and painful to bend over. Sometimes more than others. I suppose it could even play a role in even preventing back injuries since you don't have to use your back at all to get a clean car.
Drive through Automatic Car Washes usually have a standalone cashier that allows the person to pay by just rolling down their window and inserting their cash or card in machine. They never have to exit their vehicles. No worries of slipping or uneven terrain.
Exterior wash only automatics are just getting better and better. There are touchless ones that don't even touch your vehicle. Ones that wash larger vehicles so even a larger van will fit. Most people don't dirty the inside of their car that much so the interior doesn't need cleaned as regularly so an exterior wash is all they need most of the time.
Having Independence as you age, is really important on self-esteem and confidence which plays a role in many other areas of your life. It is nice to know that technology is helping us to stay independent with varying abilities and especially as we age.
